Exploring Stanley Park with Mobility Equipment
Stanley Park is one of North America's finest urban parks — 400 hectares of old-growth forest, beaches, gardens, and world-class attractions. The famous Seawall is a paved, mostly flat 9 km loop running along the waterfront, making it one of Vancouver's most accessible outdoor experiences. With the right mobility equipment, the full park is within reach.
Recommended Equipment
- Mobility Scooter — The best choice for the full Seawall circuit (9 km). Our scooters have sufficient battery range for the complete loop at a relaxed pace. Flat, smooth pavement is ideal for scooters, and you can stop at every landmark along the way.
- Standard Wheelchair — Perfect for shorter visits to the Aquarium, Totem Poles, Rose Garden, and Prospect Point. Many visitors self-propel along sections of the Seawall near the West End entrance.
- Transport Chair — A lightweight option when a companion is available. Narrower than a standard wheelchair and easier to manoeuvre on busier paths and through the Aquarium galleries.
Accessibility at Stanley Park
The Seawall perimeter is fully paved and accessible from both the West End and Coal Harbour entrances. Interior forest trails vary in accessibility — Lost Lagoon loop is mostly smooth and accessible; Beaver Lake trail has some uneven sections not suitable for scooters. The Vancouver Aquarium is fully accessible with ramps and elevators throughout. Prospect Point lookout and the Totem Pole area are both reachable by the paved park road or via the Seawall.
Delivery Information
We deliver to hotels in the West End, Coal Harbour, and downtown Vancouver — all within minutes of Stanley Park's main entrances. Same-day delivery is available Monday through Saturday for orders placed before noon. We also deliver to Airbnbs and short-term rentals in the area. Equipment is ready at your door before you head out.
Tips for Visiting Stanley Park
- Start the Seawall from the Coal Harbour or West End entrance for the flattest and most accessible approach.
- Parking inside the park fills quickly on summer weekends. If you are staying at a downtown hotel, have equipment delivered there and roll or scoot directly to the park entrance — it is easier than driving in.
- Allow 2–3 hours for the full Seawall circuit on a mobility scooter at a relaxed sightseeing pace.
- Prospect Point Café and the Teahouse Restaurant both have accessible seating and are great stops along the route.
